About Ian Towning

Where we started

In 1976, Ian opened an antiques unit at the long-established Chelsea Antiques Market on King’s Road, Chelsea, where, over a twenty-year period, he established his reputation. After the closure of this famous market in 1997, Ian and his partner opened the Bourbon-Hanby Arcade on the corner of Sydney Street and the King’s Road, Chelsea. The name of the arcade is derived from Ian’s royal family background on his mother’s side.

Bourbon-Hanby Arcade, now well established, is known as ‘The Jewel in the Crown’ of the King’s Road. It is the only remaining antiques emporium in central Chelsea.

Ian’s dedication and excellent eye make Bourbon-Hanby a key destination for lovers of antiques.
